Thunderpussy Goes Nuclear
All-girl rock band exhibitionists Thunderpussy recorded at SATSOP nuclear power plant in one of their abandoned cooling towers. Sylvia brought her Sound Devices MIX-10 and a laptop rig and recorded the whole thing for their album.
Avatar Gigantic Pipe Organ
In a cathedral in old Gothenburg, Sweden, the band Avatar recorded parts for the epic “Feathers and Flesh” on a century-old pipe organ (that had very good tuning!)

Full house at the Ridgefield, CT show on April 4th, lit up by fascinating studio tales. To the delight of the audience, the METalliance crew shared stories from their careers in the music industry. Frank Filipetti talked about Barbra Streisand, Jimmy Douglass talked about R. Kelly, Sylvia talked about Prince, George Massenburg talked about Linda Ronstadt, Niko Bolas talked about Neil Young and Elliot Scheiner had some whopper stories about Steely Dan (they wrote “Hey 19” about him!).
